4 out of 5 stars Impressed   September 2, 2008
The Ranch (Austin, TX)
Mine works great with Vista, plugged it in and went to work. I didn't read reviews before my purchase (not like me), so didn't even notice it was a HAND-HELD. Great concept (mine's new, so not broken yet) and wonderful for mouse-driven programs. I am ordering another table track ball for use between keyboard and mouse. Plugging in the track ball via USB does not disable my mouse pad on keyboard so I can use both. LOVE IT so far.

4 out of 5 stars handy   August 30, 2008

Nice for sitting in your easy chair and surfing the internet. The only improvement would be to make it wireless.

4 out of 5 stars Nice For Browsing   August 30, 2008

Works great if you simply use it for browsing, and don't have to type much..I only wish it could be set down to use like a desk top mouse..I love the track ball.

2 out of 5 stars Great Concept, Bad Execution   August 29, 2008
John Nash (Chicago, IL)
Bought the trackball based on the reviews here, but I'll be throwing it in the trash after 1 day.
I bought it for use with a laptop, primarily for playing poker. I was getting the hang of the thumb operation pretty quickly, and I'm convinced I'll love it -- IF I find a device that works better. This one is super-light, super-flimsy (quality level like what comes with kid toy remotes at Christmas). I could live with that, but on this one the ball itself is flawed. I set the pointer speed to max, and one full sweep of the thumb moves the cursor very nicely from one edge of my screen to the other. Sound good so far? Yes, but in the up-down direction it gets stuck, sometimes it goes fully from top to bottom, then the same thumb action barely moves the cursor. Like the kind of stuff you'd experience with a regular mouse when it gets dirty after a few months of use. Except this device is brand new!

Maybe I just got a bum one, but given the number of comments about quality, it seems I'm not alone. How frustrating! I hope a higher-quality manufacturer like Logitech introduces a hand-held device!

Btw, for poker players: the Targus wireless number pad works great!

5 out of 5 stars helps relieve shoulder/hand pain   August 28, 2008
Susan M. Goldsworthy (Exumas, Bahamas)
My shoulder pain was aggrevated by using a traditonal mouse. I find this mouse a real help. You can hold your hand/arm where ever it is most comfortable. Takes a wee bit of getting used to but it's worth it.
