One amazing camera for the price January 6, 2009 Ernest F. Pagragan (Newbury, NH) I set out to buy a camcorder for my son for Christmas as he has a new baby. If you have looked you can appreciate my dilema. After reading Consumer Reports and a hundred reviews for as many camcorders, on as many web sites, I settled on this one for the price, the size, and the features. Although Consumer Reports does not rate JVC camcorders that high across the board, this model had glowing user reviews so I went with it. My son is very "gadget" literate and within a half hour, devoted to reading the manual and playing with the camera, he was taking videos like a pro. He has not stopped raving about this camera since. The picture quality is phenominal, the zoom capability is mind boggling, and if you read the manual like you are supposed to, it is really easy to operate. Time will tell if I made a good choice but for now, I'm thrilled!!!!
Awsome Camcorder January 1, 2009 A. Arrington This camcorder is awsome! I love it, it is very user friendly and the video looks amazing. It was a gift from my husband and I have to say I am very pleased with the product. It takes great video of the little one running around! Great buy for the money!
Great video camera December 30, 2008 Tiffany L. Chavarria (Orange County, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This camera was a gift to my dad for Christmas. He loves it. It is very user friendly. It is lightweight with an awesome picture. The laser touch scroll bar is very cool. The only gripe he has is that the buttons are kind of small for his fingers. All of us are very impressed overall.
Based on the reviews, there must be a bad batch of camcorders. December 25, 2008 I was hoping for better 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Looks and sounds great on the surface. All the features seem nice and the video looks great until you play it through a TV. I have a 40'plasma tv and the image looked terrible. It looked like a poor digital camera mpeg. I compared it to my cannon powershot SD 400 (regular digital camera) and the images looked the same. Worried I was being unfair I hooked up my old sony camcorder, a DCR-101 (mini DV) from 2002, to the TV and the image was much much better. Looking at the reviews there seem to be both positive and negative from all experience levels. I imagine everyone should be able to tell excellent from mediocre video. The only thing i can think of is that there must be a batch of lemons out there. Guess i got a lemon.
Best camera I've ever had December 6, 2008 Ann Hunter (Tallahassee, Florida) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I got this camera less than a week ago and so far it is the best camcorder I've ever had. Its hard drive inside is what forced me to buy it and it has a Konica Minolta lens. So I had to try it out so, I bought it and its just awesome. I did reasearch on this camera a lot before I decided to buy it and from all the reviews and showcases this thing was on I had to try it and this camera has lived up to it's name! In my opinion, if youre looking for an easy to use hybrid camcorder that doesn't need tapes or discs and records off of SD cards and a built in hard dive, than this camcorder is for you. If you decide to buy this you won't regret it!
