View larger. | Powerful 3D Match Engine Watch your match in real-time, or use the Match Time Bar to fast-forward through sluggish minutes or rewind key moments in the game. With this customization at your fingertips you can also choose the information you'd like to see during the match, such as latest scores or player performance stats for the match. Engage Journalists, Train Players, and Get Help from Your AM No coach can do it all. Even the best need help from friends, so Worldwide Soccer Management 2009 comes equipped with an Assistant Manager. Your AM provides pre-match and in-match feedback on how the team is performing, and even delivers a few suggestions (hints) on how the team could play better. Every team has to deal with press. Good or bad, you're expected to attend pre- and post-match press conferences. When being interviewed by local and national journalists, make sure to choose your answers carefully because they could come back to haunt you later. Speaking of journalists, you can tap into the media and learn all about the global soccer gossip. Worldwide Soccer Management 2009's simulation of real-life soccer is even more realistic with the addition of the transfer rumors system. Now you can view the hottest news about players and speculation about who might be transferred where. Players can now be trained quickly and efficiently in a variety of new moves and positions -- even positions unfamiliar to them. For example, central defenders can learn to hold onto possession and wingers can be trained to cut inside and bypass the full backs. And for the first time, you can even play as a female manager and become the first woman to lead your favorite team to domestic and European glory. All Your Favorite Players and Teams This version is fully updated for the 2008-2009 soccer season. You can view all the latest league, club and player data from over 5,000 playable clubs from over 50 countries, with more than 350,000 players and staff from around the world. All this data is pulled fresh from the famous and trusted Sports Interactive database.

Time Trap November 25, 2008 Rene J. Quintero (Miami, FL) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
One of the biggest time traps of all time. This game will suck you in and spit you out hours later, you will jump for joy as you draw Man U at home and then cry next week when you lose to a relegation team. 09's AI is extremely intelligent and gone are the days where one uses the same formation and tactic through an entire season, now you literally have to make changes almost every 15 minutes. With plenty of new features and a flawless game engine, this game is the best [........] you will ever spend.
Great Game, bad Platform November 25, 2008 Kuassivi Mensah (Downtown LA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Ok, this game is like crack for soccer fans, play it at your won risk. When you find yourself playing all night without feeling tired, and finally force yourself to go to bed at five because the morning starts creeping through your window, you'll probably be thinking of what you'll be doing next, another transfer, play this young brazilian winger more often to improve his stats, change to a more aggressive formation for the next game or chose to play long balls to your anchor man ... really, there should be a little sticker on top of that box, a friendly warning just to let you know what you're getting into. This game is absolutely fantastic but whatever you do, do not use Valve's steam, the application is buggy, you won't be able to play when you want because the server is unavailable, and their support is either non existant or impossible to reach : dead email accounts, no phone numbers, nada, I can't even log into my own account on their support page ... literally, a waste of money.
If loved 2008..jump on board November 24, 2008 DC Dawg (Washington, DC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very simple, if you loved 2008 then buy this one, the updated game graphics (3d) alone are completly worth it. Also, the fact that your player rankings are in decimal (ie, 6.5) makes a subtle but very importance difference for you being able to tell who is performing and who is not. The rest of the game mostly looks and feels the same. They say the scouting and transfer engine have been re-written, I will take their word for it, most of it looks the same up front, though the intelligence is supposed to be better.
