4905 Battery for my RoombaNovember 13, 2008 J. Brison Worked perfectly after a 24 hour charge with the unit plugged in- not on the platform. Charging with the AC allows for a little over 2 hours of use- whereas on the docking base- about an hour.

Not for the average personNovember 11, 2008 Riki M.(Florida) I bought the replacement batteries (without the housing) here is what happened:
1. The replacement battery pack info was misleading - it was extremely hard to open open the iRobot battery - and even then, the edges were so rough that the cover would not be tight.
2. The replacement battery group has to be soldered in - the margin for error is very small - if not done very precisely, the batteries will not fit in the slot.
This may be o.k. if you are an electrician - certainly not for the average person. In sum, it was a total waste of money and I wound up having to buy an iRobot 4905 replacement unit ( $ 20 more) but at least it works.
