Do Not Buy Any G-Tech Drives, No Support Offerred March 27, 2008 Bennofer (Oakland, CA USA) 0 out of 10 found this review helpful
I purchased this mini drive from G-Tech for my MacBook laptop. It worked fine for the first three months, but then after that it wouldn't mount on my laptop and wouldn't powerup when connected to my laptop. THIS after I spent months adding my videos, images and other data to the drive. I contacted G-Tech and I had to mail the drive on my own dime to their Santa Monica office. At the office, they said it worked fine for them, so the problem must be me and even though it doesn't work on my new MacBook laptop after it worked initially, they said there was nothing they could do because it works fine for them. So go home, was basically the message I got. The tech support people were curt and condescending and they offered very little options for me at that point other than to basically say I must be some moron because the drive is working fine for them. This kind of arrogance really speaks to the poor product because they believe their product is so superior that it can't NOT work. So now I have a drive that doesn't work with all my images and data stuck in it that I can't access and no help from G-Tech. Lesson learned.
