A Better Design -- a review of the Blue Foogo October 19, 2008 Pam Tee 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Last year I bought a Foogo thermos for my son's lunchbox. It worked so well that when we decided to give up our other plastic beverage containers, I thought immediately about buying an additional Foogo. The new one as turns out has a different design. The old model has a sippy part which was small and easy to loose; but worse (and I didn't think about this until I saw the new design) it was a choking-hazard for younger children because they could easily pull it off. The new design avoids this problem because now you have to unscrew the top and remove the sippy from underneath . Like the old model, I have to say I'm pleased with these. They seem just as sturdy, and the old model didn't fall apart through a year of hard use by a kindergartner, and I don't expect this one to do that either. Both models keep his drinks cool; Milk that comes home at the end of day isn't spoiled, although it is tepid. Both the exterior and inside liners are stainless steel. The cover is hard plastic, while the sippy-parts are human-grade plastic. The only downside to the new version that I can see thus far, is that there are no extra replacement parts. [The old model gave you a replacement straw and sippy part]
It's A Better Mousetrap!!! October 6, 2008 -- 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought three of these for my blind arthritic mother who is in a nursing home. The nurses fill all of them with icewater in the morning and they stay cold all day. Even though she has severe arthritis in her fingers, she can open and close the lids easily. She knocks them off of her bed table several times a day, and they have not leaked a drop or broken yet. She loves it because she always has cold water that she doesn't spill all over the place. The nurses love it because they don't have to get her fresh ice water all day long. I love it because I don't have to listen to her complain about not having ice water when I call her every day!
