Product Description Perform a successful operation and you earn money - make a mistake, and you set off an alarm! Cavity Sam's got butterflies in the stomach, spare ribs and writer's cramps! Remove these with the tweezers, but don't get caught by the buzzer. One or more players. Requires 2 "AA" batteries (not included).

The Operation game board features Sam the patient, lying atop a red plastic "operating table" with 12 body cavities exposed. Players perform highly skilled procedures with a pair of tweezers such as removing a broken heart or butterflies in the stomach. This kind of surgery requires a steady hand! Doctors must remove the offending body part without touching the metal lining of the cavity. Touch the metal edge, and you'll set off the buzzer and make Sam's nose light up. Then the designated Specialist steps in--for double the fee! If you're playing solo, try performing all 12 operations without getting zapped. Two AA batteries are required. I don't think it's funny if a child is scared or otherwised offended by this game. By no means is "fear" a measure of a child's worth now or when they grow up. Actually, it's plain common sense to dislike a game that has such graphic detail on the box. This game should not be suggested for children under 12. Unless your one of those who enjoy blood, guts, & mayhem!

I thought the quality of this game was pretty low. All of the pieces keep shifting quite a bit whenever the tweezers come in contact with the metal sides. It makes it a lot more difficult to remove the parts. Not what I remembered from the original Operation.

Disappointing changesMay 11, 2008 G. TAYLOR(Royal, AR USA) Part of the fun when I was the kids was the "shocking" buzzer. It has been replaced with a kinder, gentler buzzer. My kids don't the that fun and get easily frustrated cause they cant get out the body parts. It was much funner when not getting the body part out meant you got that "shocking" buzzer sound.
